This book “Dreams, Desires and Destiny” maneuvers through the life of two main protagonists, John and Irene. Both individuals have very different upbringings in very distinct parts of the world.
Irene is born in Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua. It is where she experiences her most impressionable years; she belonged to a middle-class, educated family. Facing severe political unrest in her home country, she and her family migrate to the United States and settled in Tampa Bay, Florida.
On the other hand, John is born and raised in a small mid-western town in northern Indiana. Open to limited opportunities but driven by his thirst for the unknown, John visits many out-of-state colleges to pursue a sports scholarship. In the end, he choses an entirely different dynamic than his hometown and decides to continue his academics in the picturesque sunshine state, Florida.
The book dives into the story of the two main leads in equal parts, growing in similar capacities. They get an education, get jobs and eventually get married, but the story doesn’t end here! The book narrates the events leading up to the two, John and Irene, meeting and forming the most beautiful bond that can only be made possible by unshakeable faith and predetermined destiny.
